Low Access Threshold Seals for Inward or Outward Opening Doors

IGLOO ACCESS FRIENDLY THRESHOLD WEATHER SYSTEM

The design of this system has evolved over two years of consultation and exhaustive trials with architects, builders, door and joinery manufacturers to produce the answer to the majority of threshold variations.

The Problem…

Traditional aluminium door sills and threshold seals though effective at collecting and dispersing rainwater, have proven in the past to be an obstacle for invalid and aged persons, as well as wheeled traffic (wheelchairs, pushchairs, walking aids etc.) because of the height of these seals, some as high as 38mm.

It is now a requirement that these obstacles be eliminated or minimised by improved 'design and build' techniques but should retain the traditional resolves of weather tightness and insulation, to meet the requirements of building regulations, part M disabled access.

The Access Committee for England recommend a maximum upstand no higher than 15mm.

The Solution…

IGLOO ACCESS FRIENDLY SEALS

Testimonials

Listed below is a selection of the testimonials we have received for the Igloo Access System

"Thank you for your letter regarding the specification of "Igloo" threshold seals on Willmott Dixon Housing Western Sites. We have been pleased to specify your product on all of our sites over the past three years and have minimised some of our more common defects with level thresholds as a direct result."

Keith Aldrich, Senior Buyer, WILLMOTT DIXON HOUSING, WESTERN REGION

"We have fitted the above product to our doors for the last two years, during this time we have found when fitted correctly it provides an effective sealing system. Its compact low profile provides less of an obstacle than other similar products tested and we will continue to specify this system for the foreseeable future."

Richard Gilbert, General Manager, J D TRADING DOOR SPECIALISTS.

"Further to our recent telephone conversation, I am pleased to confirm that Derbyshire County Council specifies your products and find that they perform most satisfactorily and are good value for money. I have no hesitation in recommending their use."

I P Kitts, R&D Manager, DERBYSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL.

"Further to the aforementioned product. I would like to confirm that the same is specified by the Society for both new build and maintenance application. The IGLOO threshold has proved to be successful in attaining the criteria demanded by S.D.S. In actual fact, the Society have on occasions removed other threshold details only to replace same with the IGLOO product."

Mr D Singh, Maintenance Manager, HAREWOOD HOUSING SOCIETY LTD

"Further to our conversation today, I am pleased to confirm that Lincoln City Council uses your product and find that it performs most satisfactorily. I am sure that anyone considering using the Access Friendly Threshold will be of the same opinion once they specify and use it."

Stuart Worsnop, Technical Services Manager, LINCOLN CITY COUNCIL.
